Student safeguarding
As part of Supporting Education Group, Tuition Works customers benefit from world class tutor recruitment and selection protocols. Before any tuition takes place, you can be assured our tutors have passed our stringent vetting and safeguarding processes.
Central Vetting Control
All tutors are cleared for work via our recruitment vetting control department (RVC). The sole purpose of this team is to ensure all vetting checks are met. There are a significant number of checks our tutors must satisfy. These include:
✔ In-depth face-to-face interviews
✔ Criminal backgrounds (DBS) check
✔ Identity checks
✔ Health checks
✔ Critical assessment of two most recent professional references
✔ Qualifications check
✔ Right to work in the UK check
✔ Career history
✔ Document checks
✔ Children’s Barred list 99 check
✔ Teaching Regulation Agency check (Previously DFE check)
✔ EWC Check (Wales)
Child Protection Training
All registered tutors are invited to complete an accredited safeguarding course. This course is aimed at anyone who comes into contact with children and their parents through their work in an education setting.
Feedback from Parents
After the first lesson and later into each programme, we seek feedback from every parent. Parent feedback enables us to:
- determine how to prioritise the tutor for your child
- ensure tutors have access to ongoing professional development
- provide effective and safe learning for all children
